Will KonitzerWill’s passion is music and he’s been involved in it someway or other since an early age. Will started his musical training at the world famous St. George’s Chapel as a chorister to the Queen. He subsequently followed this with a music scholarship to Winchester College and a Tonmeister degree in Sound Recording before finally training with the prestigious John Taylor behind the “wheels of steel” to become a DJ.

Will erupted onto the London DJ scene to critical acclaim at the very end of 2006, although he wasn’t a new face in town, having successfully promoted “Coordinated”, a deep, progressive, tech house night, for the past 3 years across London’s club-land.

2007 started off spectacularly with Will taking the helm of his own night “Coordinated”, and placing his mark firmly on the London music scene with a residency at Charterhouse Bar in Farringdon. His style of melodic, deep, progressive, tech house quickly caught the attention of his fellow promoters. Therefore it’s no surprise that the Charterhouse residency was quickly followed by another residency at the uber cool White House in Clapham for a Sunday evening event called P45. It was here that throughout the year Will was fortunate enough to warm-up for names such as Freeform Five, Peter Hook (of New Order fame), Sebastien Leger, and The Rogue Element. Keeping a bar packed on a Sunday night is no easy feat, but Will’s adaptable style and interesting music collection kept dancers coming back for more.

However, Will’s growing reputation didn’t stop there as he was quickly asked to play at other nights alongside names such as Dave Seaman at the final Twisted Melon night, or Slacker at Turnmills for UP^^, various boat parties up and down the Thames in London, and a series of nights at the world famous Ministry of Sound alongside upcoming names such as Anil Chawla, Mark Sun and Jim Rivers.

2008 saw Will up and move to the USA where he’s built up a solid reputation with the Texas promoters, establishing himself as an interesting new addition to the American EDM scene.

Will currently draws inspiration from names such as Hernan Cattaneo, Satoshi Tomeii, Nikola Gala, Cephalonya and Sebastian Leger creating a varied soundscape of music – expect chunky basslines, rolling beats and phat melodies.

Other projects include:

  • A monthly show in Proton Radio under the name Coordinated. This is losely based on his own event that he runs under the Coordinated title. The Coordinated show is also syndicated to a variety of other online radio stations.
  • Various tracks he’s in the process of finish and getting signed to labels.
  • Currently Will has relocated to Austin, TX, with the day job until 2010. While he’s there he’ll be working on some new tunes and looking to expand his overseas experience. Considering he’s only been playing for a few years, Will is certainly one to watch.
