Will KonitzerOriginally from London but now based in Austin Texas, Will Konitzer has an intriguing ability to entertain and captivate your musical senses. With a style described simply as “electronic dance music with a groove and a tune”, Will has slowly been honing his musical and technical skills as a DJ, while countless hours in the studio are starting to show some great results.

Will caught the music bug at an early age, and started off by playing a ‘Fisherprice’ record player back in the early 80s to family and friends. Fast forward 20 years and he has progressed onto Technics 1210s, CDJs, Ableton, etc, playing to hundreds in clubs such as Pacha London, Ministry of Sound, or the now defunct Turnmills.

Will arrived on the London DJ scene to critical acclaim at the very end of 2006. His style of melodic, deep, progressive, tech-house, rapidly caught the attention of local promoters and he was offered residencies at Charterhouse Bar and the White House with guest spots at nights such as UP^^, Twisted Melon, playing alongside greats such as Dave Seaman, Slacker, and Sebastian Leger.

Moving across the world mid-2008 to Texas, Will has had a string of bookings over the past couple of years with high profile events such as “Night Culture” and “Real Music”, and has played internationally in far flung places like Thailand and Canada. Further gigs throughout the USA and UK are planned for 2011 which isn’t bad for someone who’s only been spinning a few years.

With production an essential part of the modern DJs skillset, Will has spent recent months in the studio developing his musical style, creating another outlet with which to express his musical ideas. He’s been experimenting with a range of styles, from deep house to trance, but always with the ethos of a “groove and a tune”. His first offering “Evensong” was quickly snapped up by Agent Toga’s new label, 16 Steps, and was a success on the download charts, helping put the label on the map. Will also has a bi-monthly guest spot on the Proton Radio show “Coordinated”, and regular podcasts recorded from playing out live.

Will’s passion for searching out the best new music has seen him push his sound on from his deep, tech-house roots into a wider ranging electronic sound that’s still very dance floor friendly. His unique taste and impeccable technical skills, ensures every gig he plays feels like the best party you’ve ever been to. Equally at home playing opening, main or closing sets, Will’s sound slots nicely into many different events - always with the same result, a rockin’ venue.
